Root Canal Therapy

A root canal treatment is required when bacteria has reached the nerve of the tooth and a simple filling is no longer possible. It is an alternative to having the whole tooth removed and allows you to keep the tooth while getting rid of the pain and infection that may be present.

Left untreated, bacteria will thrive inside the tooth and nerve space, and this can result in significant pain from infection.

Root canal treatment is the process where the inflamed, infected or dead nerve is removed from the tooth, usually over a series of two or three appointments.

Root Canal Therapy can often be completed with little or no discomfort, and at Sandstone Point Dental, we will always ensure the procedure and process is explained thoroughly to you before and during your appointment.
